Five of our students had the pleasure of working with Dr. Peggy Dettwiler from Mansfield University at our Region Chorus Festival March 20th-22nd. They sang diverse music by Handel and Lotti, gregorian chant, American folk tunes like “simple gifts”, and of course some gospel and spiritual songs. These festivals are not only an opportunity to meet other students who are dedicated to the arts, but are a way to grow and mature as musicians and as people. The students always come back changed for the better and are inspired after this experience.
After more snow days than I can count, our middle school and high school students performed “The Music Man” on March 15th, 16th, and 17th and it was a great success! Fifty-five students took part in the show and it was so packed that sometimes the students didn’t all fit on stage. If you are thinking about taking part in the next show or would like to help out in some way, whether it be set building, costumes, hair, makeup, stage crew, or just selling tickets, please reach out. We always love help with these community endeavors!
