Today our High School Select Chorus brought a bit of cheer to the community and went Christmas Caroling to local nursing homes. Our choir visited Creekside Apartments, Kime Apartments, and the Emerson Apartments. The residents had a great time singing along with carols past and present.
Over 80 Blue Ridge students participated in our production of "Frozen Jr" this weekend. We had record breaking show attendance and audience feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Thank you to everyone who made this production a success!
7th-12th grade students went to Forest City to sing in our Susquehanna/Wyoming County Chorus. They worked with Directors John Madas and Stacy Whitaker on a difficult concert of music and learned about musicianship and confidence!
Our chorus was invited to sing the National Anthem at the Binghamton Devils Hockey game. The students stayed to enjoy the game and root on the home team. What a great experience for the students!
6 Students attended the Young Men's Choral Fest at Mansfield University. They sang with 180 other men from PA, NY, NJ, MD, and the Mansfield University Men's Chorus. What a fantastic day of singing!
District Chorus Pre-Auditions were this weekend, Sunday 10/20/2019. Eleven students went to Tunkhannock High School and auditioned prepared music for a panel of judges. For the first time ever, all eleven students will be going on to the District Chorus Festival in January. I am so very proud of these hard working students!

Chorus Lessons are starting up! What do students do in chorus lessons? Students work on range, breathing, dexterity, tone, vibrato development, falsetto, diction, and much more. We rehearse music from class and students are also responsible for preparing a sight singing example on solfege every session. These lessons have been incredibly beneficial to the students and to the overall sound of our choir.
